Pertamina Spends US$600 Mln to improve Lightning Protection System

PT Pertamina has spent US$600 million to install a two-layer lightning protection system across all its refineries. Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said this move was part of the oil company's various measures since the tank fire incident in the Balongan Refinery in mid-2021.

"International auditors conducted an audit using the highest level of the International Sustainability Rating Standard (ISRS) for the oil and gas sector, level 9. According to the DNV mapping results, there are four potential risks that need to be addressed," she said during a meeting with the Energy Commission of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday.
