ABC Lithium, ESB to Work on EV Battery Pack

PT International Chemical Industry (ABC Lithium) collaborates with PT Energi Selalu Baru (ESB), a subsidiary of PT NFC Indonesia Tbk (NFCX), to produce and assemble battery packs for electric vehicles (EVs).

ABC Lithium Marketing Director Hermawan Wijaya said the company is committed to supporting Indonesia's successful transition to EVs.

Hermawan said that ABC Lithium is focused on boosting the domestic content by supporting the electric motorcycle industry, which requires locally produced batteries. "We acknowledge that EVs and their advocates are the solutions to combat air pollution and global warming," he said on Wednesday.

ESB Director Abraham Theofilus said that the collaboration aims to speed up the supply and assembly of high-quality battery packs. ESB and ABC Lithium plan to enhance the battery technology capabilities through joint research and development.
