Lesaffre Builds Rp 1.2 Tln Yeast Factory in Malang Regency

French investor PT Lesaffre Sari Nusa (LSN) is constructing a yeast factory in Gading Village, Malang Regency, with an investment value of Rp 1.28 trillion.

Subur Hutagalung, Head of the Malang Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPM-PTSP), said LSN engages in the yeast product industry used for making bread. The factory, occupying an area of 9,800 hectares in Malang, will have a production capacity of 45,000 tons of yeast per year.

The plant construction began in 2021 and is expected to be operational this year. This will be Lesaffre's first factory in Indonesia.
