Govt to Auction Five Toll Projects

Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry revealed its plan to auction five new toll road sections this year, in addition to re-auctioning previously failed toll road projects. The five projects for auction this year include the Kamal-Teluknaga-Rajeg Toll Road, Cikunir Ulujami Toll Road, Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road, Bogor-Serpong Toll Road, and Sentul Selatan-Karawang Barat Toll Road.

"The last two projects are part of the JORR III toll road network," PUPR Ministry's Head of the Toll Road Management Agency (BPJT) Danang Parikesit, in a hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission V on Tuesday. This means that by 2024-2025 to 2030, greater Jakarta area will have five toll road networks or rings, providing better transportation options to residents.

The five toll road networks include six Jakarta toll roads, Inner City Toll Road, JORR 1, JORR 2, and JORR 3. With the presence of these networks, people and goods movements within the urban areas of Jabodetabek are expected to be more efficient and organized.
