Summary

Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) is developing an electric vehicle ecosystem with three local electric motorcycle manufacturers: Gesits, Volta, and Alva.

This collaboration was stated in a memorandum of understanding between PT Electra Mobilitas Indonesia President Director Rahmat Septriwan, PT Wika Industri Manufaktur President Director Bernardi Djumiril, and PT Volta Indonesia President Director Iwan Suryaputra with the IBC President Director Toto Nugraha, on Tuesday.

According to Toto, this memorandum of understanding is a strategic step to build an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. One of them is to create hardware and software standardization for electric vehicles.

"For example, chargers standardization that affects consumers and producers," he said. Like a shared ATM, Alva, Gesits, and Volta will have the same standard for charging. "Whatever the electric motorcycle is, the battery is from IBC, and the electricity is from PLN," Toto said.
