Summary

Kendal Regent Dico M. Ganinduto has brought home a substantial investment commitment amounting to Rp 700 billion after his official trip to Hong Kong on Monday. The investment will come from the Alba Group, which is set to construct a modern plastic and electronic waste recycling facility in Kendal, covering 2.5 hectares of land. The facility will become the largest plastic waste management plant in Southeast Asia.

During his working visit, Regent Dico signed an MoU with PT Alba Tridi Plastics Recycling Indonesia to ensure that plastic waste management in Kendal is done correctly. The Economic Consul 2, Consulate General of Hong Kong, Yomi Eka Putra, witnessed the MoU agreement signing. Dico had the chance to see the plastic waste processing facility New Life Plastic Ltd (NPL) and the electronic waste processing Waste Electrical and Electronic (WEE) Park in Hong Kong.

The investment placed by Hong Kong investors will provide three significant added values to the community. “First, the investment will have an economic impact empowering and mobilizing the village economy through plastic waste management. Second, it will increase public awareness of the environment. And third, it will improve the human resources quality through training and job creation,” Dico said in a press release.
