India Offers Missiles to Indonesia

BrahMos Aerospace, an India-Russia defense company, plans to sell supersonic cruise missiles worth US$200 million to Indonesia.

BrahMos Aerospace CEO Atul D. Rane told Reuters that the company was in advanced negotiations with Indonesia. "I have a team right now in Jakarta. The deal is very important for the Indonesian military," he said.

BrahMos also plans to strengthen its market in Southeast Asia. Rane revealed that the company has been trying to land a follow-on order worth US$300 million from the Philippines.

The Philippine Marine Corps has commissioned supersonic cruise missiles, the delivery of which begins at the end of 2023. However, the Indonesian Defense Ministry still has not commented on the purchase of missiles from BrahMos.
