The Winding Road of BTS Corruption Investigation

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) investigates Gregorius Alex Plate, the younger brother of Communications and Information Technology Minister Johnny G Plate, for his alleged involvement in the corruption case of 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) construction.
AGO spokesperson Ketut Sumedana said that Gregorius had returned Rp 534 million, allegedly a facility from the Ministry's Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency.
Ketut further clarified that Gregorius has no legal relationship with the Communications Ministry and the AGO is investigating the flow of funds. It questioned Johnny Plate for the second time on Wednesday.
In response, President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of respecting the legal process, stating, "We respect all legal processes."
