Summary

The Indonesian government will soon issue a regulation on rooftop solar power plants (PLTS), as the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry and PLN agree on several points contained in the regulation.

One of them is implementing a quota-based system for plant users from the household to industrial sectors. "There have been talks with PLN so that it can be carried out immediately," Electricity Director General Jisman Parada Hutajulu said on Wednesday.

He assured that the drafting process is almost complete, highlighting that such a system aims to adjust the company's transmission capacity to accommodate electricity generated from renewable energy-based power plants.

As a result, users of solar power plants cannot export or sell electricity to PLN. "It is still being discussed. I hope it will be over soon," Jisman said.
