Summary

The dispute over the Sultan Hotel, formerly the Hilton Hotel, has resurfaced. The owner of PT Indobuildco, Pontjo Sutowo, sued Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister Hadi Tjahjanto over the right to manage the Senayan sports arena (GOR) to the State Administrative Court on Feb 28.

He asked the court to annul the Decree of the National Land Agency Head Number 169/HPL/BPN/1989 concerning the Granting of Management Rights on behalf of the State Secretariat dated Aug 15, 1989.

Hadi Tjahanto responded by stating that he would personally engage the family of Ibnu Sutowo in a dispute over control of the Sultan Hotel. He will now take the helm in the defense against Pontjo's claim. "The government will defend legal products that have been processed based on the relevant laws and regulations," Hadi said on March 9.
