Summary

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said two investors had shown interest in constructing a five-star hotel in the Lake Toba super priority tourism destination (DPSP) in North Sumatra.

"We have already been contacted by two major investors and are following up on their interest. One is from China, and the other is from within the country, and they have requested a more detailed presentation," Sandiaga said.

During a previous working visit to Hong Kong, Sandiaga presented Lake Toba as a potential destination for interested investors. One of the investors from China is interested in developing an area or infrastructure to support the construction of a five-star hotel on Lake Toba.

The proposed location for the hotel construction is The Kaldera Toba Nomadic Escape area, as there are limited land constraints in the Balige District.
