Bali Governor: No Visa on Arrival for Russian and Ukrainian Tourists

Visa application
Summary

The Bali Governor I Wayan Koster has asked the Law and Human Rights Ministry (Kemenkumham) to revoke visas on arrival (VoA) of Russian and Ukrainian nationals visiting Bali as tourists.

"I have written to the Law and Human Rights Minister with a copy of the Foreign Minister, asking to revoke the visa on arrival [policy] for Russian and Ukrainian citizens wishing to go to Bali," he said in Denpasar on Sunday.

The plan was a response to some reports highlighting violations they committed in Bali under the guise of tourists. "Many of them come to Bali. Some who are not tourists also come back here to seek comfort, including to work," he said.

The Bali provincial administration is still waiting for the answers of both ministries so that it can implement the revocation as soon as possible. Any visiting tourist must respect the laws and customs of the Balinese people.
