AEON Prepares for Massive Stores Expansion

The Japanese retail chain AEON will expand its presence in Indonesia. Takahiro Osugi, PT AEON Indonesia President Director, announced they will open at least ten new outlets in Jakarta and its surroundings by 2025. There are now four AEON stores.

"So far, AEON Store has only been open in AEON Mall. AEON Store will become a tenant of other malls such as in Alam Sutera or Cibubur," he stated on March 9, 2023.

AEON poured funds worth Rp 200 billion for this expansion. Osugi claims that AEON will inaugurate a mall and an AEON Store in the Jababeka Industrial District in 2024. He said this expansion happened when the economy started improving and COVID-19 transmission slowed.

Osugi predicted that as a result, the new AEON location would adopt a fresh idea in line with the way of life changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
