Riau Offers Trans Sumatra Toll Projects to Malaysian Investors
The Riau provincial administration keeps trying to improve its economy and attract investors to invest in the province called Bumi Lancang Kuning.
Riau governor Syamsuar has met with business people from neighboring countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore, to support the plan. "We met with businessmen in Malaysia, one of them was a toll road operator. We offered them to build the Pekanbaru-Rengat-Jambi and the Dumai-Sigambal-Rantau Prapat toll road sections," he said.
Syamsuar revealed that Singapore and Malaysia had been the biggest investors in Riau Province. Apart from toll road projects, Riau also offered them environmentally friendly power generation projects, such as developing solar power and other renewables.
