Indonesia's Pooling Fund for Disaster Relief Still Limited

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said Indonesia is in the ring of fire, leading to numerous catastrophic disasters. Therefore, funds are needed to overcome the impact of natural disasters.
She explained that the Disaster Pooling Fund (PFB) is one of the funding sources used to deal with disasters in Indonesia. The total funds collected by PFB have reached Rp 7.4 trillion, up from 2022, totaling Rp 7.3 trillion.
"We are adding Rp 3 trillion, making it Rp 4.3 trillion this year. We'll keep gathering it, and if we don't use it, we'll keep it safe. This is exactly like an Education Endowment Fund [LPDP]," Sri Mulyani said at the National Coordination Meeting for Disaster Management of 2023, through video conference, on Thursday.
