JBIC Pours Rp 882 Bln for Proving Ground Project
The government, through PT Indonesia International Automotive Proving Ground (IIAPG), received funding of Rp 882 billion from the Japan Bank for International Corporation (JBIC) for the vehicle testing proving ground project.
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said the proving ground project is very strategic to improve the quality of the national automotive industry, both to meet domestic demand and the export market.
Through this project, Indonesia can become one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. "The international standard proving ground is to increase the standardization of vehicles produced and marketed in Indonesia," Budi Karya Sumadi said on Wednesday.
IIAPG President Director Hiramsyah Thaib said this project includes proving ground design, constructing facilities and provision of equipment, information systems, maintaining infrastructure and equipment, also periodic training.
