ION Mobility, New Contender in Electric Motorcycle Business

Singapore-based electric motorcycle manufacturer ION Mobility will build a factory in Indonesia. ION Mobility Chief Executive Officer James Chan said the factory would be built in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java. "The Cikarang factory will be our main driver to achieve the 50 percent Domestic Component Level [TKDN] by the end of 2023," Chan said.
In the short term, ION Mobility plans to establish a Completely Knock Down (CKD) motorcycle assembly facility, and it is currently evaluating the possibility of utilizing TVS's factory in East Karawang, West Java. Additionally, the company intends to release two new models of electric vehicles in the near future. “We have developed a detailed roadmap to meet the requirements and preferences of motorcycle riders.”
