Filianingsih Hendarta, New Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia

The House of Representatives has selected Filianingsih Hendarta as the new Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia. With previous experience as Head of BI's Payment System Policy Department, Filianingsih will serve in this role from 2023 to 2028. "The decision was made in an internal meeting between the heads of faction groups and was reached by acclamation," House Finance Commission member Misbakhun said.

During a fit and proper test before the House Finance Commission, Filianingsih shared her vision of creating a resilient, progressive, and inclusive national economy through accelerating economic transformation and digital finance. She acknowledged that the post-COVID-19 economy still faces high uncertainty and risk of recession due to inflation and stated that monetary policy strategies could not be based on business as usual. Filianingsih emphasized the need for efforts to capture the opportunities that arise from these changes.
