CVC Capital Eyes Samator's Minority Stake

CVC Capital Partners is leading the bidding for PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk's (AGII) minority stake. Bloomberg reported on Friday that the Harsono family, Samator's majority shareholder, would sign an agreement with CVC at the end of the first quarter. According to a Bloomberg source, the deal's value would be around US$150-US$200 million for a 30 percent stake. However, Samator has neither confirmed nor denied it.

Samator Indo Gas, previously PT Aneka Gas Industri Tbk, has been offering its minority stake since 2022. PT Samator and PT Aneka Mega Energi of the Harsono family hold 40.5 and 25 percent of Samator Indo Gas' stakes. Samator is a producer and distributor of gas for industries and provides gas installation construction and services. Samator currently operates 55 factories and 106 gas filling stations in 28 provinces.
