Mineral Processing Sector, Investment Magnet in Indonesia
Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said that investment in 2022 has exceeded the target, exceeding Rp 1,207 trillion through Dec 2022, a 34 percent growth from 2021. "Hopefully, the 2023 target of Rp 1,400 trillion can be achieved," Bahlil said on Tuesday.
Investment Ministry data showed the largest investment realization was in the basic metal and metal goods industry sector at Rp 171.2 trillion; followed by the mining sector at Rp 136.4 trillion, and transportation and warehousing and telecommunications at Rp 134.3 trillion. West Java took first place with Rp 174.6 trillion, followed by Jakarta with Rp 143 trillion, and Central Sulawesi with Rp 111.2 trillion. Central Sulawesi is a national nickel processing center.
