Summary

President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo finally signed the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 3/2023 on the ratification of the ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement (ATISA), approved by all ASEAN member countries on Oct 7, 2020, in Manila, Philippines. With this ratification, starting Jan 16, Indonesia can implement all agreements covered by ATISA.

Previously, Deputy Trade Minister Jerry Sambuaga revealed that ATISA was one of 25 international negotiations that Indonesia managed to conclude as of June 2022. He said that taking part in the international trade negotiation was one of President Joko Widodo's mandates to the Trade Ministry, representing Indonesia as a sovereign country at global level interests. "There are lots of benefits [from ATISTA]," Jerry said some time ago.
