Govt Plans to Install 420 GW of Solar PV by 2060

The government plans a US$160 billion mega project to install 420 gigawatts (GW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) by 2060 as a part of renewable energy developments. Energy Minister Arifin Tasrif said solar PV would improve efficiency and yield greater power output. Therefore, the government plans to develop large solar power plants.

"We plan to install 420 gigawatts of solar PV by 2060 with more than US$160 billion in investment," Arifin said during a panel session at the Indonesian Pavilion as part of the World Economic Forum 2023 agenda in Davos, Switzerland, Thursday.
