Summary

President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo revealed two major issues that often hamper the region's investment flow: spatial issues and building permits (IMB). The two problems rank first and second in complaints from investors every time they invest in the regions.

"I need to convey that the investment needs to be our concern. There should be no more permits that take months [to be issued]," Jokowi said when opening the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of Regional Heads and Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) 2023, at the Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java, Tuesday.

In the meeting, regional executive and legislative leaders throughout Indonesia attended as participants. Jokowi asked them to complete all investment licensing matters in their respective regions immediately. He also urged the local governments to prepare the necessary budget to overcome the investment barrier issue.
