Ridwan Kamil and the Anxiety of the Banyan Tree Party

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said he was ready to join the Golkar Party. He revealed this after inaugurating the Dewi Sartika Underpass, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday. "God willing, [I] will join Golkar soon," he said. Emil, as he is usually called, said that he would officially announce his joining the party with the banyan tree logo this Wednesday or Thursday.

Late last year, Emil joined as a member of the 1957 Multipurpose Gotong Royong Organization (Kosgoro), the Golkar Party's founding organization. Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party Nurul Arifin said Emil had become a big family of the Golkar Party because he had joined Kosgoro as one of the advisers.
