Who's Next Suspect in 4G BTS Corruption Case?

The Attorney General's Office has detained three suspects in an alleged corruption case in the 4G base transceiver station (BTS) provision. The Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) Ministry carried out the project in 2020-2022. Attorney General's Office spokesperson Ketut Sumedana revealed that these suspects were Kominfo's Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti) president director Anang Achmad Latif (AAL), PT Mora Telematika Indonesia (Moratelindo) president director Galumbang Menak Simanjuntak (GMS), and YS, an Universitas Indonesia's Human Development expert in 2020. "These suspects will be detained for the next 20 days," Ketut said Thursday.
Kominfo's director general of public communication information Usman Kansong said the agency would support the decision of the Attorney General's Office, even though one of its officials, Anang Latif, had to be detained. "BLU Bakti will continue to carry out its primary tasks and functions of developing telecommunications infrastructure to accelerate digital transformation while still adhering to the ongoing legal process," he said.
