Summary

Online shopping website Elevenia officially closed its services on Dec 1. Citing the official elevenia.co.id page, the management posted an announcement of the closure of its services. "As of Dec 1, we are closing the www.elevenia.co.id service. Thank you for being our partner all this time," the announcement read, quoted Tuesday. SK Planet and XL Axiata originally owned this e-commerce. SK Planet is a subsidiary of South Korean telecommunications giant SK Telecom. In 2017, Salim Group bought Elevenia's shares.

Apart from Elevenia, e-commerce platform JD.ID laid off 30 percent or 200 employees. JD.ID Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Setya Yudha Indraswara said the layoffs were an adaptation to face current business challenges. "One of the steps taken by management is to downsize so that the company can continue to move to adapt to changes," Setya said in an official statement on Tuesday. This is the second layoff by JD.ID this year. Previously, the company had laid off employees in May.
