Halodoc Eyes Expansion in South East Asia

Halodoc
Summary

Health tech startup Halodoc is gearing up to expand to several countries in Southeast Asia. In an interview with Nikkei, Halodoc Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Sudharta said it would bring its telemedicine app to countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore. "We've always dreamed of simplifying access to healthcare, and we never said it was just for Indonesia," Jonathan said on Friday.

Jonathan did not provide any details of his company's overseas expansion schedule. However, according to him, Halodoc targets countries with the same issues as Indonesia, such as traffic congestion. After opening branches in Southeast Asia, Jonathan intends to expand to other regions such as the United States, Europe, and Japan. In addition to overseas expansion, Halodoc also plans a stock exchange listing. "We will prepare the company to go public next year," Jonathan said.
