Cinema XXI to Go Public Next Year Despite Recession Threat

Movie theater chain Cinema XXI's operator, PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya, is reportedly considering an initial public offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Bloomberg reported that, according to a source, the company aims to raise US$1.1 billion of fresh funds, or Rp 17.17 trillion, based on an exchange rate of Rp 15,617 per US dollar.
Also known as 21Cineplex, PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya is currently working with IPO advisers on the possibility of implementing the plan next year. "The share sale could raise between US$500 million and US$1.1 billion," the source revealed as quoted by Bloomberg last Friday.
