Revision of Capital City Law Becomes National Priority
The House of Representatives and the Indonesian government agreed to include the revision of Law No. 3/2022 on the Nusantara capital city (IKN) in the 2023 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly explained that the revision would focus on attempts to accelerate the relocation process, aside from changes in funding and managing state assets.
The IKN Law will regulate financing and investment and guarantee aspects for the continuity of the IKN project. "The regulation is also related to the processing of IKN's assets," Yasonna said on Wednesday. DPR's Legislative Body chairman Supratman Andi Agtas said six factions approved the inclusion of the revision of the Capital City Law into the 2023 Prolegnas, namely the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, the Golkar Party, the Gerindra Party, the National Awakening Party, the National Mandate Party, and the United Development Party.
