Brawl at Hipmi National Conference: What Really Happened?

The 17th National Conference (Munas) of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) in Solo, Central Java, on Monday was marred by a brawl. Conference's organizing committee chair Muhammad Ali Affandi said the clash occurred outside the plenary session due to a misunderstanding. "The incident occurred after the plenary session was closed. There was a miscommunication," Muhammad said on Tuesday.

In the video circulating on several social media platforms, several participants wearing batik punch each other. Some of them try to intervene but to no avail. The fight occurred in a room at the Alila Solo Hotel, the conference location, after the meeting was suspended because of too many interruptions. Ali revealed that the committee is investigating the incident and wishes to resolve the issue amicably.
