Daikin to Build US$220 Million AC Factory in Indonesia

Daikin Industries Ltd decided to build a new air conditioner (AC) factory at the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC), Kota Deltamas, Bekasi, in response to the rising AC demand in the Indonesian market. It is expected to operate in Dec 2024. "In Indonesia, Daikin will invest US$220 million for a new factory with a production capacity of 1.5 million home air conditioners per year, and create around 2,000 jobs," Daikin senior executive officer Yoshihiro Mineno said as quoted by Nikkei Asia, last weekend.

Through PT Daikin Manufacturing Indonesia, PT Daikin Global produces ducted air conditioners (more than 5 HP) and Air Handling Units (AHU).
