Renewable Energy Bill Stumbled on Problem Inventory List

Drafts of law
Summary

House of Representatives Energy Commission Member Mulyanto regretted that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has not sent the Problem Inventory List (DIM) for the Bill on New Energy and Renewable Energy (EBET) under the 60-day deadline after receiving the letter from House, as stated in Law No. 13/2022 on legislation establishment.

This means that the president has violated the law. "The president should not frequently violate the law. This could set a bad precedent as if confirming the adage that laws are made to be violated instead of being obeyed and implemented consistently," Mulyanto said in a written statement on Friday.

The PKS faction deputy chairman also questioned the seriousness of the government in upholding legal certainty and building "good governance" in running the country's development. "It could be, in fact, that the government is not serious about developing the EBET bill since the government did not submit the Problem Inventory List (DIM) when submitting the Presidential Letter related to the EBET bill," Mulyanto said.
