Indonesia's Foreign Investment Realization Sets New Record

Investment Minister/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) head Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed foreign investment growth in the third quarter of 2022 as the largest in history. BKPM data showed that foreign direct investment (FDI) reached Rp 168.9 trillion or US$ 10.89 billion, up 63.6 percent year-on-year and 3.5 percent month-over-month. "This is the largest in history," Bahlil said at a press conference on Monday.
According to Bahlil, the FDI growth was higher than that of domestic investment (PMDN) of Rp 138.9 trillion or US$8.96 billion, up 22.5 percent year-on-year, but down 0.05 percent month-over-month. Apparently, the Indonesian market is still appealing. "Now this republic is like a beautiful woman being courted by foreign investors. This happens because of political stability," he claimed.
