Summary

Kopi Kenangan opened its first outlet at Suria KLCC, Malaysia, on Monday. Kopi Kenangan co-founder and CEO Edward Tirtanata said the coffee culture in Malaysia is steadily developing, especially for the grab-and-go business model. It allows consumers to place their orders through an app and pick them up at the store. The new outlet in Malaysia marks the company's first step in expanding its business globally. Kopi Kenanga will open ten more outlets in the first quarter of 2023 at MyTown Cheras, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, NU Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, and Sunway Pyramid in Petaling Jaya.

"Before entering new markets, especially within this region, we envisioned opening up to 100 outlets in the country, subject to each country's expansion rate. For the Malaysian market, we do plan to enter the country in a big way," Edward said, as quoted by The Edge Markets.
