eFishery Raises Rp 500 Bln Funding from DBS Indonesia

Bank DBS Indonesia disbursed Rp 500 billion in funding to eFishery, Indonesia's first aquatech startup. DBS Indonesia announced the funding on Wednesday. This Bandung-based startup is considered successful in digitally transforming the fish and shrimp farming industry, which is still very traditional.
To do this, eFishery offers an integrated end-to-end platform that provides fish and shrimp farmers access to technologies related to feeding management, financing, and markets. Although established in 2013, eFishery is said to be close to unicorn status and has bagged profits.
"Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing sectors over the last 40 years and potentially affected building food security. Referring to Indonesia's geographical conditions, the available natural resources provide an opportunity for Indonesia to become a leader in the aquaculture sector even on a global scale," wrote DBS Indonesia in an invitation distributed to the media.
