Who Is Gonna Take Responsibility for the Kanjuruhan Tragedy?
President Joko Widodo has formed a Joint Independent Fact-Finding Team (TGIPF) to investigate the stampede at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, that killed 125 people. The team will do its best within the next month, led by Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud MD. TGIPF consists of several academics, football pundits, sports journalists, and former football players.
Mahfud explained that the investigation results would be submitted to the president for a thorough assessment of national sports policy. If the team finds any person who is criminally responsible for the incident, the police will act accordingly. "It's possible that the investigation will find out that a bigger person is at fault. In this case, we will hand it over to the police. If it's related to money, the Corruption Eradication Commission will handle it," Mahfud elaborated on Monday.
The TGIPF consists of:

Deputy Chairman: Youth and Sports Minister Zainuddin Amali
Secretary: Former Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes and former Deputy III of the Coordinating Politics, Legal and Security Affairs Ministry Nur Rochmad.
