Govt Injects Rp 5 Tln Equity Participation into PLN

Summary

The government injected Rp 5 trillion in state capital investment (PMN) as equity participation to PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). The additional PNM is stated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 27/2022, signed by President Joko Widodo on August 31.

"To improve the capital structure and increase business capacity in a bid to increase funding capacity and continue electricity infrastructure development, it is necessary to increase the state participation into the share of the state-owned company [Persero] PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara," citing the government's background for providing this PMN from PP No. 27/2022.
