Mining Companies Complain on Time-Consuming Environmental Licensing

Summary

Mining businesses complained about the time-consuming process of obtaining Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) documents. Indonesian Mining Association (IMA) Acting Executive Director Djoko Widajatno said that the time required for the AMDAL process could reach six months to one year.

As a result, the process can interfere with mining companies' application for Work Plan and Budget (RKAB). "Until the deadline for submitting the RKAB, the government does not want to consider delays from the ruling Ministries/Institutions," he said as quoted by Kontan.co.id.
