New Strategic Projects, Great Opportunities for Investors
The Indonesian government has added 13 new National Strategic Projects (PSN) in various sectors across the country through the Coordinating Economic Ministerial Regulation No. 9/2022. According to the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) on August 9, the new list consists of several telecommunications and transportation projects.
KPPIP head Wahyu Utomo said that the new PSN developers must elaborate their plans until the first half of 2024, yearly milestones, and address other critical issues. "The government will ensure that these project is going to be completed on time and target," he said.
The new projects are as follows:
- Palapa Ring integration project,
- Tall coconut industry and subindustry project in West Papua,
- Ir. H. Djuanda/Jatiluhur II drinking water supply system (SPAM) project (in Jakarta and West Java),
- Thousand Islands tourism project in Seribu Islands, Jakarta,
- Logistics railway line project in East Kalimantan,
- Indonesian Konawe Industrial Park (IKIP) project in Southeast Sulawesi,
- Southeast Sulawesi Special Economic Zone project,
- Rukoh dam and supporting facilities construction project (Aceh),
- Large-scale solar power plant project (PLTS) in Riau Islands,
- PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) integration through the establishment of SugarCo, PalmCo, and SupportingCo,
- PT Vale Indonesia's integrated smelter in Bahodopi, Central Sulawesi,
- PT Vale Indonesia's integrated smelter in Pomala, Southeast Sulawesi, and
- Nickel smelter project in East Halmahera, North Maluku.
