Corporations Rely on Funding from the Capital Market
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) noted that 45 companies had entered the pipeline to raise capital with Pre-emptive Rights (HMETD) or rights issues through August 1, 2022. It expects to obtain a total fund of Rp 36.9 trillion. IDX Director of Corporate Valuation I Gede Nyoman Yetna Setia said these 45 listed companies are spread across various sectors.
"Judging from the number of listed companies in the rights issue pipeline, it reflects their trust in utilizing the Indonesian capital market as an alternative funding source," Nyoman said Tuesday.
Meanwhile, IDX also noted that 29 companies raised capital in an initial public offering (IPO) through August 1, with a total fund raised reaching Rp 19.5 trillion. In the IPO pipeline, 32 prospective issuers are in line to list their shares on the IDX.
