SuperAtom Aims South America Expansion After Securing New Funding

Singaporean fintech startup SuperAtom secured US$22 million in Series C funding led by Malaysian investment firm Nue 3 Capital. SuperAtom founder and CEO Scarlett Xiao said this funding would be used to expand SuperAtom's digital banking and credit products globally, starting in Mexico and other South American countries. "In the next few months, we will start building local operations in these countries by recruiting local talents, applying for financial permits, and focusing on developing new products," Xiao said in an official statement Tuesday.
In Indonesia, SuperAtom has a fintech lending product, UangMe, which has been officially operating since 2018 and registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). SuperAtom is committed to providing a more comprehensive range of financial products and facilitating financial inclusion in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, where most of the population is not served by financial institutions. SuperAtom views comprehensive financial services for emerging market users as a crucial step to winning the market. With this funding, SuperAtom will continue to build on its success in Indonesia, develop more products, and replicate the UangMe model in other emerging markets, such as Mexico.
