Jokowi Visit to Korea Brings US$6.72 Bln Investment Commitment
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and several CEOs of companies in the country on Thursday. Jokowi brought investment commitments of US$6.72 billion from ten companies. According to him, South Korean investment in Indonesia has increased significantly.
Jokowi also asked investors facing problems in investment to contact the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan and Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. "I didn't listen to serious complaints. They can go directly to me if these two ministers can't resolve them. Whether it’s related to permits, immigration, and others," Jokowi said.
The meeting was attended by ten company leaders, including Posco Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kim Hagdong; Lotte Chemical CEO Kim Gyo-hyun; LG Corp CEO Brian Kwon; CJ Group Chairman Sohn Kyung-Sik; LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-Eun; GS E&C CEO Lim Byeong-yong; Samsung Electronics CEO Roh Tae-moon; LX Holdings CEO Roh Jin-seo; Taekwang Chairman Park Joo-hwan; and KCC Glass Chairman Mong-ik Chung.
