Indonesia and China Seal Trade and Investment Cooperation
President Joko Widodo met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on Tuesday. He praised China for becoming Indonesia's strategic partner. "I wish to discuss various collaborations in the trade, investment, infrastructure, finance, funding, and maritime sectors," Jokowi said. The Indonesia-China trade value continues to increase and has already exceeded US$100 billion, but President Jokowi wants more.
After meeting Li Keqiang, Jokowi then talked with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two heads of state discussed various issues, such as the Selatan-Selatan (South-South) Cooperation involving developing countries to achieve mutual independence.
