Summary

Andaman Premier Oil Ltd has discovered new oil and gas reserves in the Andaman II Block after completing the drilling of the Timpan-1 exploration well at a depth of 4,245 feet. The British oil and gas company drilled a total vertical well at a depth of 13,818 feet under the sea. Based on the test, the Timpan-1 well, located off the coast of Aceh, can produce 27 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMscfd) and 1,884 barrels of condensate per day.

Upstream Oil and Gas Special Regulatory Task Force's (SKK Migas) deputy for planning Benny Lubiantara said Premier Oil would soon conduct a post-drill evaluation to determine the next step to commercialize the discovery in the North Sumatra Basin. "This discovery is great news not only for Premier Oil as the operator but also for the upstream oil and gas industry as a whole," Benny said on Monday.
