President Joko Widodo met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Maryinsky Palace, Kyiv, on June 29, 2022. "After the welcoming procession, both of them entered the palace for a group photo session and continued the tete-a-tete meeting," Presidential Secretariat stated on June 30, 2022. During the meeting, Zelensky expressed his appreciation for Jokowi's presence in Ukraine; the first one to do since the beginning of Russia's invasion of the country. "I also invite Indonesian businessmen to participate in the reconstruction of post-war Ukraine," Zelensky said.

Jokowi also welcomed the offer. "This year marks 30 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Ukraine. I convey Indonesia's commitment to improving the relations," Jokowi said.
