Jokowi to Meet Putin and Zelensky, What Is His Mission?

President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Jokowi will meet with Zelensky in Kyiv after the G7 Summit in Germany on June 26-28, 2022, even though the meeting with Putin in Moscow has yet to be determined. Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that these meetings would show Indonesia's concern for humanitarian issues and drive for peace.

Holding the G20 presidency and the membership of the United Nation's Champion Group of the Global Crisis Response Group, Indonesia and Jokowi want to actively contribute to fixing global issues. "We understand that the current situation is still very much complicated. The world also understands the complexity of existing problems, but we do not choose to remain silent," Retno said on Wednesday.
