Rumah Keramik to Boost Indonesia's Ceramics Production
Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia broke ground on PT Rumah Keramik Indonesia's factory in the Batang Integrated Industrial Park (KIT), Central Java, on Tuesday. Rumah Keramik Indonesia will spend up to Rp 1.5 trillion for the construction of the factory, which will expectedly provide jobs for 1,000 people. The company, originally importing ceramics from India, is now the first local investor in Batang industrial zone. For the record, there is also a ceramics company from South Korea, KCC Glass, in the area.
Bahlil claimed that the construction of these factories would only benefit Indonesia's ceramics industry. Based on data from the Investment Agency and One-Stop Integrated Service of Batang Regency, Rumah Keramik's ceramic factory sits on a 13-hectare area in the first phase. This project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 and operational in 2023. The factory will produce ceramics, ceramic tiles, walls, closets, glasses, and plates.
