Emtek and Alpha JWC's Fresh Funds for Mangkokku

startup business
Summary

Multi-brand culinary startup Mangkokku raised US$7 million in a Series A funding round. The startup, founded by sons of President Joko Widodo, Kaesang Pangarep and Gibran Rakabuming, received funding from Alpha JWC Ventures, Elang Mahkota Teknologi (Emtek), and Cakra Ventures. Randy Kartadinata, another co-founder, said that the funds raise would smoothen Mangkokku's plan to become a culinary retail company. "We will strengthen our online and offline presence," Randy said on Monday.

For the record, Alpha JWC Ventures was one of Mangkokku's initial financiers in 2020. Since then, Mangkokku boasted that their sales had multiplied up to six times, and the number of stores had doubled. Currently, Mangkokkku is managing 50 outlets in Jakarta and its surroundings, Surabaya, Bandung, Malang, and Solo. In the next few months, Mangkokku plans to open more flagship restaurants, while expanding its cloud kitchens to new territories.
