Will the Wave of Startup Layoffs Get Bigger?
Several startups decided to reduce their workforce. One of them is JD.ID e-commerce. JD.ID director of general management Jenie Simon argued that the layoff was an attempt to adapt to the new circumstances. "JD.ID also decides to carry out employee restructuring," Simon said on Wednesday. Edtech firm Zenius cut 200 employees as the company's performance fell amid the economic turmoil. The dismissed employees will be demoted to other companies, including tutoring company Primagama.
Meanwhile, LinkAja stated that it was currently reorganizing its human resources. "Adjustments are made on the basis of the company's needs and business focus," LinkAja Group head of corporate secretary Reka Sadewo said.
