The Golkar Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the United Development Party (PPP) agreed to form a coalition for the 2024 general elections (Pemilu) and the presidential elections (Pilpres). PAN chairman Zulkifli Hasan and PPP chairman Suharso Monoarfa announced it in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on May 12. "The name (of the coalition) is Bersatu, the abbreviation of the symbols of the three parties," Airlangga said.

The consolidation will start from the central to the regency/city levels. They agreed to jointly oversee the progress of President Joko Widodo's programs and the election preparations. "We will encourage unity and tell people the risks of identity politics," he said. Suharso Monoarfa also believes that members of the coalition will increase.
